Adaptive Football

FOOTBALL FOR ALL ABILITIES

We are excited to announce that thanks to Northern Region Football, the Halberg Foundation, and Aktive Auckland, Eastern Suburbs AFC have the privilege of delivering an Adaptive Football Programme for those experiencing a disability but keen to give football a go.

PROGRAMME DATES & KEY INFORMATION
Book term-by-term weekly training sessions run by Eastern Suburbs AFC coaches which focus on a range of fun games and activities as players learn to fall in love with football.

2026 Dates

Term 1 2026 commences the week of 26 January and finishes 2nd April

Term 2 2026 commences the week of 20 April and finishes 3rd July

Term 3 2026 commences the week of 20 July and finishes 25 September

Term 4 2026 commences the week of 12 October and finishes 18 December

  • Trainings – Tuesdays 4:30pm – 5:30pm
  • Venue – Madills Farm field 4, 6 Baddeley Avenue, Kohimarama

Matches 
For some participants, there may also be opportunities to play in club matches, including Saturday games. Match involvement is entirely optional and is determined individually, taking into account each child’s age, size, and physical capability.

To Register – Head to Clubhub and select “Register Player”. From here you will be asked to enter your details, continue to click through and select the Adaptive Football Grade. Under Purchases & Bookings please select your training programme.

Children are welcome to come down and give it a go without registering, just reach out to community@esafc.org.nz to let us know you will be attending. For any questions or more information about the adaptive football programme, please feel free to contact the following,

"Tuesday afternoons were the highlight of Flynn’s week last term. He had so much fun learning new skills and playing mini games with his friends. The coach was so patient and encouraging whist managing to challenge his physical ability at the same time. He ended the term being far more skilful with the ball and is always practicing his new skills in our garden. It’s been fantastic for his balance and coordination but mostly it’s really great to see him being able to play a sport he loves but at a pace he can keep up with."
